In 1967 Irene Court founded Irene's Lakeside Ceramics, when she and her husband Jerry owned
Your Haven Resort south of Richmond MN. She kept the guests busy on rainy days by teaching
ceramic classes. Daughter Sandra soon joined the business. In 1976 Sandra and husband Ed Schutz
moved one mile east of Rockville MN and brought the production part of the business to a
remodeled building on the century old farmstead. In 1988 Irene and Jerry retired from the resort
business after 33 years. They stayed committed to the ceramic business and built a new store,
moving the entire ceramic line to its present location at 25173 County Road 138, just 6 miles west of
Saint Cloud.... Watch for the big yellow sign by Hwy. 23!

In 2001 ceramic classes were discontinued and the
decision was made to turn the class room into a gift
room. We increased our finished ceramic gift line
which includes wildlife to religious and even handcrafted
wood items. At this time, Irene's other daughter
Kathleen Stanger joined the business as their sales
consultant.
